Paper thin walls and irresponsive management
Pros
The super was very responsive and kind. The laundry room used cards instead of coins, which was convenient.
Cons
You can hear your neighbors next door and below speaking. Also a handful of tenants consistently break lease rules and management was very difficult to reach and when finally you could speak to someone, they would do nothing or not know how to handle the situation. There is no physical property manager office (only leasing), so you had to fully rely on calling a manager and most of the time would go to voicemail. Also, there is only one washer and one dryer for the entire building, so many times you have to wait for other loads to finish. The lobby needs work and the hallways are very filthy and sticky. Also, the building did not provide lightbulb replacements for the unit.
Advice to the owners
Add additional training to building managers so they know how to effectively act in all types of situations. Since the walls are so thin, put together a reaction plan to noice complaints. Add weekly office hours at the leasing office for managers to physically sit so tenants can meet in person to discuss any concerns that the super is unable to address.
