Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 150 Claremont Avenue highlight its convenient location near Columbia and a generally quiet, student-friendly neighborhood. The building is noted for decent cleanliness, character, and helpful amenities like elevators, laundry facilities, and package retrieval. Spacious layouts and furnished units appeal to students, though some units suffer from limited natural light and lack in-unit laundry or dishwashers. Heating is effective but often uncontrollable and can become excessive in winter. Management performance is mixed; while some find staff helpful, others report issues with unresponsiveness, privacy violations, and strict regulations. Overall, the building suits students seeking proximity and community but could improve management and maintenance responsiveness.

Great for Students
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is clean, the super is helpful. The living room for all ‘F’ apartments is huge and the kitchen has plenty of storage and counter space. The rooms are decently sized and it comes furnished as it is university housing.
Cons:
The bathroom does not have a bathtub. There is no dishwasher or in-unit laundry in the apartment. The laundry is in the basement and there are times all the machines are occupied. The inner bedrooms do not get any sunlight and with just one window, it’s not possible to open it if there’s an air conditioner attached. The heating can get extreme during the winters and there’s no regulator for it.
Advice to owner:
Try to give tenants any way to control the heating in the rooms. The rooms are boiling during the winter.
