    Beyond a Bad Landlord! A Pattern of Predatory Harassment and Retaliation

    Pros:
    The physical apartment was decent upon move-in. The building is in a fairly convenient location (several blocks away from closest subway station entrance). That is the only positive thing I can say.
    Cons:
    Illegal entry into my apartment by staff (proven by video).
    Gross negligence leading directly to theft of my personal property.
    Systematic harassment and public humiliation during move-out.
    Retaliation, including making false allegations to the NYPD, when I asserted my rights.
    Discriminatory behavior.
    Fraudulent and illegal financial practices, including withholding security deposit and attempting to collect a non-existent debt after I moved out.

    Pros:
    This is my first NYC apartment. The management company is responsive and helpful whenever I need something but is otherwise hands off and minds their own business. The common areas are kept reasonably clean.
    Cons:
    The apartment unit itself isn't much to look at. There are some projects I'd love to undertake like painting but I don't own the unit so I don't want to put a bunch of time and money into it.
    Advice to owner:
    Paint the units neater between tenants.
