Is anyone not getting a crazy rent hike from the new management company?

Yes, every year the average amount they try to raise my rent is $500 which is a lot more than 5%. Be aware that this building is rent stabilized and they got away with destabilizing some units. There is a current lawsuit by several tenants from this and two other buildings they own bc of this reason bc apparently the destabilization of this units was a scheme. So negotiate your rent increases from now on. There is an article about this lawsuit in the Daily News

NEVER HEAT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS, POOR GARBAGE COLLECTION, ELEVATOR IS MOSTLY OUT, THE LANDLORD A PIECE OF SHIT NAMED EDWARD OLSTAD (MD), DOES CARE FOR REPAIRS, IF YOU DONT WANT TO LOOSE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT RENT IN THIS BUILDING. MICE INFESTATION.
