Pros
Some nice neighbors, proximity to A train, good water pressure
Cons
Freezing in the winter, they keep temp just borderline so you can’t file a complaint, but nights are really cold. Illegal construction work, super that doesn’t speak English hence can’t fix any issues you might have cause you can not communicate with him. Mice, roaches. Constant package theft. Noise from the street is pretty bad if your windows face 181st st. List can go in and on.
Advice to the owners
This person is beyond salvation
Avoid like the plague.
Pros
Absolutely none. Maybe that you’ll have a roof over your head if you rent here. That’s about it.
Cons
Owner is shady, there’s construction all over the place without permits. They just converted a commercial space I to two apartments (!!!), construction causes dust and the whole building is powdery. Windows are old so it’s NOISY. You can hear people on the street having conversations from the 5th floor. THERE IS NO GAS. It’s been at least 10 months without gas. Owner expects you to cook with a cheap hot plate that granted, was provided, but broke after 3 weeks. SUPER DOESN’T SPEAK ENGLISH. If you speak Albanian then good for you, you’ll be able to ask for help. Otherwise forget it. It’s like there’s no super whatsoever. His wife is the one that cleans and his kid (!!!!) sort the trash.
Advice to the owners
You need to assume your role as an owner and provide quality housing. If this was a restaurant you’d be serving cold food and the manager would be nowhere to be found
