I'd say apartments below 15 or so facing 48th may get some noticeable street noise from the fire station & theaters sometimes, but nothing loud after 10pm or so. Anything facing inwards is real quiet. Lived on 20 facing 48 and 10 facing 49 and both were very quiet

There is a fire station on the corner of the block that can be heard. The tourist noise from Times Square can’t be heard.

As of now, the fire house and the building foundations being built on 47 are heard daily. Don't forget about the nonstop construction in house that is every day. I have lived here for two plus years and it's loud all the time.
