Basically Illegal but Super Cheap & Great Location!
Pros
Perfect location, great street, access to transportation, good neighbors
Cons
The landlords are basically renting it out under the table so you need to pay in all cash, and I had to convince them to sign a lease. I didn’t have hot water for about 6 months (just showered at my gym), and I finally withheld rent until it was fixed. Got locked into the apartment and the landlord tried to make me go buy a door handle and replace it myself. The landlords are a very sweet but SUPER old couple who live downstairs, so if anything goes wrong you’re kind of S.O.L. They also wanted me to do all the work to find someone to replace me when I left even though it was at the end of my lease…
