Landlord scammed me out of most of my deposit. Claimed certain damages and other things that I have photo evidence that these were not true. Tried to file a complaint with the city, but the landlord is a real estate lawyer and knows how to fight back. It’s just not worth the hassle - do not rent here if you expect to your deposit back despite all your efforts to maintain the apartment in the condition you got it. Also it’s right next to the expressway so dirt and grime will seep through the windows. I tried everything to prevent it and it still came through. I always had to clean the window areas and get an air purifier. Health hazard for sure.
