Absent management company
Pros
Lots of windows, next to a vacant lot with nice greenery.
Cons
The apartment we moved into was neglected by management. It was dirty and in disrepair when we moved in. A lot of the work in the building seems rushed and done with cheap products. When we moved it there were broken tiles, bad paint job, flogged up windows, broken light bulbs and smoke detectors, exposed nails and loose fixtures. It took 2 months, a lot of work and of stress to fix these. The management company was very difficult to work with.
Advice to the owners
To the owner? Get a different management company that will actually manage the property. To the management company? Be more present, proactive, and empathetic.
