Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 190 Utica Avenue, Brooklyn, emphasize a mix of positive and challenging experiences. Many tenants appreciate the newly remodeled units, central heating with in-unit controls, and good pest control, highlighting clean appliances and keyless entry as benefits. However, several renters report management issues, including unresponsiveness and slow maintenance, with concerns about building security and neighborhood safety. Garbage management and cleanliness ratings vary, and some note noise problems and inconvenient building systems like the doorbell and basement laundry pricing. While neighbors are generally viewed positively, renters urge improvements in management responsiveness and building infrastructure for a better living experience.

Unresponsive & Unsafe
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful apartment, great natural light
Cons:
Management was impossible to get anything done through. Our oven did not work for the entirety of our lease and we were ignored when our windows started pouring water into the apartment. Management also either accidentally gave another tenant a master key or did not collect all the keys from the previous tenant as we had someone fully unlock our door and attempt to flip the deadbolt from outside the door. The neighborhood is unsafe and people often use the building’s stoop as a seat. More than once the people sitting there tried to follow us into the building.
