Management from Hell
Pros
Central AC, dishwasher, laundromat nearby, close to J train
Cons
Management is TERRIBLE. If you have an actual emergency, good luck. There is a weird musty smell in the building that comes from the vents—it’s been here for 2 years and no matter how much you clean, it won’t go away.
Advice to the owners
Create an emergency phone number for the building.
Way Too Expensive for What You Get
Pros
Decent location, nice neighbors, and one good sized bedroom. Pet friendly up to a point.
Cons
They're not kidding about the mold smell, yall. While we didn't have bug problems on the top floor, the downstairs neighbors for sure did. The roof needs work- they can only cover up water damage with the good 'ol landlord special for so long. While one bedroom was an amazing size, the other "bedroom" was literally a glorified closet. I'm not kidding. You could touch both sides of the room if you spread your arms out. Considering there were zero closets in the unit, maybe that works for some people. Management SUCKS. Horrible response time, don't want to take care of the building at all. Had to fight them tooth and nail to get any safety deposit back, despite no damage having been done to the unit. I was interested in renewing, but they ghosted us for literal months and spent the last two months of the lease parading in potential new tenants for showings and had the balls to get snappy when our schedule didn't rotate around them. Upon talking to one of the folks touring- it's cause they were cranking up the rent $400 a MONTH. It's just not worth what you're paying for, yall.
Advice to the owners
Don't be greedy, guys. You guys aren't earning that rent.
