Huge Inexpensive Space, but for a reason!
Pros
The units inside this building have good space and balcony space. The area is great and near by a lot of cute places.
Cons
I want to begin this review by highlighting the exceptional support we received from Sharon Lev, the broker representing this building. Sharon was consistently responsive, kind, and helpful throughout our entire two year lease. On several occasions when building management failed to respond to urgent concerns, Sharon stepped in to assist directly. Her dedication and professionalism stood in stark contrast to the rest of our experience, and for that, we are truly grateful. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the building’s management or the apartment itself. Communication with management was consistently poor, with delays of several days or longer for basic maintenance requests and serious concerns alike. During our lease, we encountered frequent and significant issues including multiple rodent and insect infestations, with mice on three separate occasions and roaches many times. We also experienced between 10 to 15 ceiling leaks, some severe enough to cause water to pour from the ceiling into various rooms. These leaks were patched in the most temporary and cost cutting ways, which led to recurring damage and additional ceiling collapses. The apartment had serious structural concerns. Everything creaked, and the materials throughout the unit felt cheap and worn down. The bathrooms, in particular, were extremely difficult to maintain. No amount of cleaning made a difference, as the grout was permanently discolored, molded over, and peeling up. In addition to the physical issues, we also received multiple court warrants taped to our door, one of which was a bright red sign warning that no one should enter the property due to an unresolved issue. While the landlord was friendly, we had to relentlessly follow up on every major repair or concern. That level of effort just to maintain a basic standard of living became exhausting. To be fair, we did enjoy the neighborhood and had great neighbors, but the apartment itself was a constant source of stress and frustration. Unless there are major improvements to both the infrastructure and the way the property is managed, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.
Advice to the owners
Invest in real repairs instead of temporary fixes. Improve response times from management and prioritize tenant safety and cleanliness. This building has potential but needs serious attention to become a place people feel good living in.
a fine apartment
Pros
3/4 units have private outdoor space, kitchens are well equipped, super/landlord are responsive enough
Cons
super/landlord never give notice of work being done, about anything ever. water pressure could be better. a 2BR apartment where one of the BRs is barely a BR.
