Stay away from this landlord
Pros
The building itself is charming. The street is quiet and the home gets good light. It's close to the AC subway line. In-unit laundry and dishwasher.
Cons
The landlord is very difficult and can be confrontational. In the four years I lived in the apartment, I made friends with the other tenants who have come and gone and none of them go their security deposit back. The landlord bragged to me that she was taken to court over security deposits but that she has an "in" with the Attorney General, so tenants will never win their case. I wish this wasn't the reality of living in the building because the apartment is wonderful, but the landlord makes the entire situation untenable, frustrating, and intentionally hostile.
