decent location, overpriced apartment, bad management
Pros
Small building, easy to get to know people. Decent location close to trains. In unit washer dryer.
Cons
To call this a 3 bedroom unit is a gross over statement since one of the bedrooms is 6x7 and does not have a closet. The rest of the apartment is cheaply renovated so on the surface it looks nice but after about 3 months of living there the defects start to make themselves known. Our radiator leaked more times than I can count, the ceiling leaked from the radiator in the unit above us in basically every room, we had mice because there were multiple holes behind the kitchen that were not patched when they renovated. It’s a small building which seems nice except nobody talks to each other and there was a habitual package thief when I lived there. Property management is extremely unhelpful and takes multiple days to respond to even urgent requests, half the time when they send someone they can’t even do anything about it without approval from management which then takes another few days.
Advice to the owners
Take better care of your properties and the people inside of them.
Solid first apartment
Pros
The building across the street is beautiful - it was a delight to look out my window. The common space has windows which is rare at this price point, but it was just overlooking the courtyard/garbage area. The defunct fireplaces are aesthetic af.
Cons
One bedroom per three-bedroom unit is ridiculously small and is missing a closet. You will have a hard time convincing your roomie to resign after they've spent a year living in a 5'x7' closet (that, ironically, has no closet space). The bodega directly across the street (it may be shut down now) was a big party spot. I called in noise complaints more times than I care to count. They'd blast reggaeton until the wee hours of the morning. It's a fun, young neighborhood, so I wouldn't mind it on weekends. But at 2AM on a Wednesday, you don't need to have your speakers set to max volume for your sidewalk party. After a year of living there, I still didn't know who I was supposed to call if I had a question/issue with the apartment. Response times from Silverstone Property Group were long (2-3 business days).
