Make sure the apt has been tested for soil vapor intrusion before moving in.

This structure is in the midst of the meeker ave plume AKA greenpoint superfund site with several sources of contamination right next door to the house (easily identified on the EPA maps). The apt has an open cellar which is not sealed and the walls are mostly the bare foundation of the apt. The cellar is possibly a source of soil vapor intrusion and the owners are aware of all this but as of the time of writing this had not performed any tests which the epa have reached out to them about doing. I understand that testing is most accurate in the winter time.
Advice to the owners
Perform soil and subsurface groudwater contamination tests in the cellar.
