Review Summary for 152 Parkside Avenue
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews at 152 PARKSIDE AVENUE portray a turbulent experience. Issues highlight poor cleanliness, ineffective garbage management, and unresponsive staff. Residents faced disturbances like marijuana smoking, heating failures, and maintenance negligence. Concerns regarding safety, maintenance delays, and unaddressed complaints emerge prominently. Despite proximity to the park and subway, the consensus leans towards finding better housing options due to persistent drawbacks. Improvement in property management and maintenance urgency is advised for a more satisfactory living environment.

Nightmare Apartment Building!
Former Tenant
Pros:
We were able to easily get out of our lease after the nightmare experience of being a tenant in it. Learned what it's like to live under a slumlord.
Cons:
Teens (confirmed by management to not be tenants of the building) smoked copious amounts of marijuana in the building lobby at all hours of day and night. Complained to management about this and the girl in the office simply posted some no smoking policy flyers in the lobby and called it a day. This obviously stopped nothing. When we noticed a smell of gas coming from the oven, we called the super only for him to claim, while IN THE APARTMENT, that there was no gas smell despite there very much being one. The heat in the building failed on a weekend when it was 10 degrees outside, and the "emergency" maintenance phone number never picked up. At this point we stayed in hotels until we could get out of this apartment all together.
Advice to owner:
There is a reason you are no. 10 on the NYC Public Advocate's 2023 list of worst landlords.

Don’t Do It
Former Tenant
Pros:
It has walls and a floor
Cons:
Neighbors smoke weed and cigarettes in the hallway and management is uninterested in doing anything about it — the apartment always smelled like weed; heat is inconsistent and no one answers the “emergency maintenance line” on the weekend; new appliances don’t work properly.
