Infested and horrible management
Pros
Close to a ton of shops, a great park, and by the water. Quiet neighborhood. New super is extremely friendly and kind.
Cons
Three words. Roaches, Mice, and Mold. Roaches everywhere all the time. Waterbugs, centipedes, spiders, flying roaches. And yes - MICE. Mold hidden in plain sight and in the floors, walls, and cielings. Washers and dryers in building are filthy, never cleaned. Basement area where the washers and dryers are is absolutely disgusting, roaches everywhere. Management makes you pay for updated appliances even if they are needed due to health risks such as food safety and fire safety (e.g. freezers that shut off leading to thawed meat, ovens that spark and start smoke). The elevator was finally updated after 30 years and multiple incidents of people getting stuck and they punted the cost onto tennants. You can never reach a single human being at the management office - you always have to leave a message and hope someone reaches out at some point. If you need any repairs or maintenance, they just have someone randomly show up at your door at a random time on a random day without scheduling with you or letting you know in advance, expect you to be home, and if you happen to miss them, you're SOL until "the next time they're available next month". The walls in the apartments are literally paper thin - you can hear full conversations with no problem, constant screaming in the hallways from children or bickering partners and bickering neighbors. Floors are so old and improperly installed that you can hear a loud creak with every single step. Building is full of mold, and if you happen to have a leak from upstairs that leads to mold forming in your cieling, they'll just send a painter to go over it with the "landlord special" white paint. And there are constant maintenance fixes of this sort because the place is so decrepet and no care is put into maintaining it - it seems every month a new problem arises and the cycle continues. Management are penny pinchers and will find any and every way to grab your money for this disgusting excuse for housing.
