1 room rental in an illegally subdivided house
Pros
Dirt cheap rent because I pay for 1 room on a floor with many illegally subdivided rooms on the floor.
Cons
Overcrowding because multiple renters/families are renting single rooms, usually 4-5 renters per floor all sharing same bathroom, toilet and kitchen. Feral pets running rampant. Noisy and smelly with too many people crammed in together.
Advice to the owners
Do away with the illegal subdivided rooms and rent as a 2-family, as the building is zoned for.
