Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 227 East 7 Street, Brooklyn, highlight a well-maintained, rent-stabilized building with spacious apartments and strong water pressure. Tenants appreciate the helpful superintendents, laundry facilities on every floor, and generally quiet, family-oriented neighbors. Garbage management and cleanliness are generally rated highly. However, some residents report occasional pest issues, outdated appliances, and heat inconsistencies, with heating sometimes overly hot or insufficient in certain rooms. Noise from neighbors can be a concern due to thin walls. While owner responsiveness is mostly praised, a few tenants suggest updates to building amenities and better pest control for an improved living experience.

Some issues but overall fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super is very helpful, large amount of space for a decent rent. Shared laundry room on each floor.
Cons:
Had a baby roach infestation once that I had to tackle myself. Appliances are way outdated and kitchen cabinet hardware is also falling apart (the broker had told me the kitchen cabinet knobs were “just replaced”). Laundry machines malfunction on occasion and have ruined some of my clothes. Heat gets way too hot in winter and no way to control.
Advice to owner:
Consider updating the building and unit amenities.
