Owners non responsive, loud building, broken locks, no gym (as advertised)
Pros
The heating and cooling system is adequate.
Cons
This building was advertised as having a gym- it does not. The area where a gym WOULD be is an empty room. There is a gym in the building next door (129), but I don’t want to have to go into another building to go to the gym when we are paying an exorbitant amount of rent. The yard is dramatically uneven and it is full of garbage, discarded furniture, broken glass, dead vermin, and several discarded (and now very moldy) large area rugs. Several items have been stolen. My bike was stolen from the basement. After hassling management and owners for footage, they finally showed me and a masked man entered through the connecting building and went right for the bike, so obviously he knew exactly where it was. Several packages have been stolen from our doorstep almost immediately after being delivered, which means that the thieves are watching the doors/deliveries. Front and back door entrances to the building are frequently propped open, leaving the building and common areas vulnerable. Loud parties are a regular occurrence. Police presence is common late at night. The front entrance and each apartment are locked by a keypad device. The code for the entrance to the building is ridiculously obvious. If the doors constantly being propped open wasn’t bad enough- anyone could easily guess the code and enter. Management and owners are non communicative. They won’t hesitate to cash your rent check but if anything of concern happens at the building… crickets.
Advice to the owners
Be attentive. Communicate with your tenants. Fix the problems as they arise. Show some level of concern and respect for the people who are paying you exorbitant amounts of money, every month.
