Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 30-52 34 St in Queens reveal a building with spacious apartments and a prime Astoria location near transit and amenities. Tenants value the good-sized rooms, natural light, and pet-friendly environment. However, consistent complaints highlight poor building cleanliness, ineffective garbage management, and ongoing pest issues. Maintenance is frequently described as subpar, with slow or temporary fixes, and management and the superintendent receive criticism for unresponsiveness and unprofessional behavior. Noise from busy nearby streets and a lack of security cameras add to tenant concerns. Overall, renters recommend improvements in management and building upkeep to enhance living conditions.

Ehhh... apartment was fine but management is horrible
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Apartment itself was a huge with lots of storage space and natural light -Prime Astoria location, five minutes from the subway and steps away from everything you need. Pre-war so apartment is well build, thick walls. Never heard my neighbors
Cons:
Where where to begin? Building itself is dark and dirty. People just left their rotten Daily Harvest and Food boxes in the lobby and management wouldn't do anything about it. No cameras, so packages would constantly be stolen. 34th St is a busy street so it was always loud thanks to construction, honking, and the bars from 30 ave. (I once heard someone agressively vomit outside. There's also a huge pigeon problem-- they'll hang out on your fire escape and coo so loudly you'll wake up. Super is a moron and comes whenever he feels like it (even if it is 10PM at night). He'll text you a million times that hes downstairs waiting to be let in but doesnt bother ringing the bell, and will get mad if you don't respond. Had experiences w roaches but as long as your ontop with the exterminator it should be fine. All jobs done are half-assed and more bandaids than actually being fixed.
Advice to owner:
Invest a little in the building to make it a place where people actually would want to live in.

Decent for the price
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pet friendly, neighborhood is great
Cons:
Maintenance is absolutely atrocious. Every work order is a patch job by likely unqualified workers. When my door fell out of the hinges, it took nearly a week to fix and the solution was not to replace the rotted wood frame but instead just get longer bolts to hold it in place.
Advice to owner:
Spend just a little money to higher actual professionals
