Overall Good, Some Annoyances.
Pros
The maintenance team is very nice and consistent. They clean inside the building, hallways and outside the building well. They have a signup sheet for extermination which keeps the building's pest control in check. Mostly families in this building, some younger people, but overall it's quiet. The units are spacious compared to what you'd see in the city or Brooklyn. Overall the units have a homey aesthetic and charm.
Cons
The heat is controlled by management, it could be warmer and more frequent. We just got new management so it's improved a little bit. The laundry room is ridiculous, only 3 washers, and 2 dryers for the whole building and they break down often. The washers and dryers price keeps going up too, nearly $3. The water pressure isn't that great but it's not horrible. Also, outside of the laundry room there's no amenities, and no outside space. I wish the back area or roof had some type of outside space. The way the building faces, it doesn't bring much light especially with standard sized windows.
Advice to the owners
Add more washers & dryers and improve water pressure. Consider including some outside spaces.
Don’t Rent
Pros
Close to malls and shopping Centers.
Cons
No heat is provided to some apartments and no service. But yet rent is extremely high! They find ways to raise rent by claiming major capital investments. They get away with all sorts of violations.
Advice to the owners
Give heat, be more socially responsible, stop trying to find any occasion to raise tenants’ rent outside of legal rent control guidelines. If the heat is not turned on, we will take to the internet to let potential renters know what is in store for then if they move in. You need to be more socially responsible and honest. Lastly, our rents pay for your managers’ salaries. Have them be more polite when we customers contact them with a problem. Some of them are very rude!
