Infested with Roaches!
Pros
-Location -beautiful big fig trees in the backyard -Nice countertop and cabinets
Cons
-Roach infestation -Landlord refusal to address roach infestation -Apartment not properly sealed near windows, behind appliances, under sink, around radiators and pipes. Huge gaps between baseboards and floor -Large gaps around doors and their frames, leading to easy access for roaches and a lot of noise every time someone is in the hallway -Front and vestibule doors propped open regularly. Dangerous, noisy and easy access for more pests. -Large, non-secure rugs in the hallway. Fire/trip hazard. -Large piles of dead plant material in the backyard leaning up against neighboring building. Fire hazard -Toilet runs regularly. Landlord did a DIY fix that didn’t work. Pattern of landlord refusing to hire professionals to save money. -Missing light fixture, bare lightbulbs. -Lack of lightning in the hallway near the downstairs apartment entrances. -Landlord’s father-in-law gardens in the backyard. He turns off the hallway light every time he comes, making it even harder to safely enter and exit apartments on first floor. -Floor is not level throughout apartment from room to room. Flooring is the cheap vinyl you buy on a roll, very hard on your feet because there is no give or padding. Feels like it was rolled out over a concrete subfloor. It is peeling up in areas around radiators (more hiding places for cockroaches!) -The only closet is a large built-in in the living room. Not sealed at all, especially bad behind the drawers.
