Poor Building Management
Pros
- The rent is cheaper than market rate for the area. - The building is close to transit (Roosevelt Av, 69th St, Woodside LIRR).
Cons
- There is no regular building maintenance (e.g. monthly exterminator). I don't think this is due to any 1 landlord but the entire building board. - The building has a pest problem (Mice + roaches) - The elevator is not reliable. It will break down several times a year (4-6) and outages will last anywhere from 1-60 days. The elevator was out for 9 straight months during covid lockdown for example.
Advice to the owners
Provide a monthly exterminator to all units. Replace the elevator.
