What to check before choosing a building with elevators near Court St station in NYC

  • Confirm elevator basics before touring: whether it serves all floors, typical wait times, and whether it’s out of service during renovations.
  • Ask about move-in details tied to elevator use: timing, loading access, reservation process, and any building-specific scheduling fees.
  • Check what’s included in the rent versus on top: utilities, security deposit requirements, and any move-in or amenity fees that aren’t obvious on the listing.
  • Look for lease constraints that affect living with an elevator-first need: availability of service animals policies, floor-location options, and any documented accessibility considerations.
  • Use Openigloo notes to shortlist, then verify directly with management about current elevator condition and recent repairs.
