What to check before choosing a building with low open violation rates near the W train in Hudson Yards
- Use the low-open-violations signal as an initial screen, then verify the current status directly with the building when you tour or apply.
- When you see “near W train,” double-check walking time from the specific stop you’d use daily, since routes and blocks matter.
- Read the building’s most recent Openigloo notes and tenant Q&A to understand how maintenance and response times show up in real life.
- Confirm lease basics before signing: move-in date, required documents, deposits, and who pays which fees for your unit type.
- If you plan to apply quickly, filter for buildings with available apartments so you are only contacting places you can actually tour.
- If a building has had violations historically, ask what was corrected, what changed operationally, and how future complaints are handled.
