What does “recommended by renters” mean on this page?

It means renters have flagged these buildings based on their experiences. Use that signal as a starting point, then verify the current unit details and lease terms for the specific apartment you are considering.

How does the M57 bus factor into the building results?

The page targets buildings located in Manhattan near the M57 bus service area. Still, walking distance and timing can differ by stop, so confirm the closest practical stop for your route.

Are these buildings only in one neighborhood of Manhattan?

No. Manhattan is large, and the M57 bus runs through multiple areas. Expect a mix of building types and blocks along the corridor.

What should I check before I schedule a tour?

Confirm availability, the exact monthly total (including expected move-in costs), any building rules that affect your situation, and the lease start date. If something is important to you, verify it with the building directly.

Do renter recommendations guarantee the same experience for my unit?

No. Building-wide guidance can differ by unit, floor, exposure, and landlord practices. Use renter feedback to guide questions, then verify details for the specific apartment.

Can fees and restrictions change even if the building is recommended?

Yes. Recommended buildings can still have different fee schedules and policies at the time you apply. Make sure you review the latest terms and ask about anything that affects your move-in plan.

Which neighborhoods are trending right now in this Manhattan scope?

What to check before choosing a building recommended by renters near the M57 bus in Manhattan

Use renter recommendations to shortlist buildings near the M57 bus route, then confirm availability and current rent for each building on Openigloo.

Read renter notes and building notes for recurring issues (noise, maintenance response, move-in logistics) and ask follow-ups in the building Q&A.
Double-check lease terms and move-in costs beyond the rent amount, including broker fee, security deposit, and any one-time building fees.
If a building lists restrictions (pets, smoking, laundry, amenities), confirm the specifics in writing before signing. Rules can vary by unit and landlord.
