Beautiful but don’t get too comfortable
Pros
- Beautiful building - Great location - Great light - High ceilings (in lofted units)
Cons
- Rent gets raised annually by an arbitrarily large number - Never seen more rats in another NYC rental, always had several rat traps out and kept my apartment spotless. Probably caught around a dozen rats in the 2 years I lived here - Looks renovated, cheap finishes break easily. Had to do so many repairs myself because management is impossible to reach unless you’re a day late with your rent (in that case they’ll be happy to get in touch with you) - The studio apartment i lived in is going for almost double what I paid when I was there, and 50% more than my 2-bed down the street currently costs. -Trash chute is tiny so you will have to bring trash down yourself. Also because the trash chute is tiny everything sticks to it going down so the hallway just smells rotten
Advice to the owners
Be less greedy. Rent the units for what they are.
Nice NoHo location
Pros
Small building with responsive management and superintendent. They are quick to help fix something if it is broken.
Cons
Occasional cockroaches and have had mice sightings in the laundry room. Heating and insulation is not great, but that is the case for many older buildings.
Advice to the owners
The management company and super are great
