Within months of moving into this building, I discovered that the entire building has a roach infestation. Even with biweekly exterminators servicing the apartment, the infestation in our unit got so bad that roaches were inside of our stove. The management was unhelpful, and informed us that there was a hoarder living below us and that because of that we shouldn't expect them to keep the roaches out. We ended up having to pay for exterminator services out of pocket because the building's services didn't come consistently and management provided little to no information on how to coordinate with the building-hired exterminators. The building is also located above a smoking lounge and directly on the corner of Nostrand, which gets incredibly rowdy, especially during local parades. During our tenancy, multiple wet spots developed in the ceiling, resulting in water rings. In the last couple of months (May 26-July 26) the building had a huge leak on the fourth floor that soaked through all floors and flooded our lobby. The lobby ceiling was badly patched and shows water damage. Directly after that, I started experiencing unexplainable health issues--trouble breathing, extreme fatigue, headaches, feeling swollen, neurological hallucinations, and body tremors. After meeting with multiple doctors, it was determined I was suffering from mold toxicity. Within a week of staying with friends many of my symptoms started to lessen.
