Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Abraham Oberlander indicate significant issues with management responsiveness and maintenance. Tenants report pervasive pest problems, poor cleanliness, and inadequate garbage management, with persistent unanswered maintenance requests. Furthermore, concerns about overheating, noise, and older building conditions have been voiced. Despite some positive feedback regarding location and neighbor relationships, the overall sentiment leans negative, with many renters dissatisfied and recommending against staying. Effective property management practices and timely communication appear to be critical areas needing improvement to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.

Pest mess, unresponsive

Pros

The kitchen was a nice size

Cons

Really bad pest issue. Ceiling leaked and was ignored by management. I moved out a year ago and still haven’t gotten my security deposit

Great Location Iffy Management

Pros

I really liked the access to the park and the convenience of being between two separate train lines. I didn’t have many issues with pests.

Cons

The units got very dusty quickly. The windows were not double-pane, so the apartment got very cold easily in winter. There was a stench throughout the hallway. The hallway has caked-on grime, which is not regularly cleaned. The building management will send someone to clean, but they do not do a sufficient job. The number of dogs that go through the building due to someone running a dog-walking and boarding business that does not clean up after itself compounds the hallway's dirtiness. The building management often lets trash pile up, resulting in tickets appearing at the front door.

Advice to the owners

Consider deep cleaning the hallway to lessen the stench and also make the regular cleans more effective. Also consider getting into contact with the tentant who runs the dog business
