Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of Scott Castellano’s buildings consistently report severe management issues. Common grievances include unresponsiveness to maintenance requests, persistent pest infestations (rats, mice, roaches), and poor garbage management leading to unpleasant odors and health concerns. Heating systems are often inadequate or inconsistent, and elevator malfunctions are frequent and prolonged. Security problems are noted with broken or ineffective locks and poorly controlled building access. While some apartments are spacious and well-located, and a few tenants appreciate a helpful on-site super, the general consensus is that management neglects urgent repairs and tenant concerns, resulting in subpar living conditions across properties.

Reviews

Noisy street, has loiterers, smelly, mouse infestation

Pros

-elevator in building -laundry in basement with a cute cat -enough heat in the winter time -spatious layout -packages are surprisingly secure and doesn't get stolen

Cons

-rat and mouse infestation that never resolved even after 2 years of living there -if you're facing the street, it'll be loud -loiterers around the building who'll blast music and talk loud -the elevator frequently breaks down and you may get stuck inside -strong garbage odor in the summer time

Shitty corporate landlords

Pros

Great location Sun exposure Dishwasher

Cons

Building management is completely unresponsive. I have neighbors who have been looking for repairs (holes in the ceiling or floor, no stove, no gas, etc) for several months and still nothing.
