Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by Carlos Solorzano reveal a generally well-maintained and clean environment with responsive and courteous superintendents. Tenants appreciate the safety and upkeep of common areas, as well as effective garbage management and pest control. However, noise levels are a significant concern due to poor soundproofing between units. Heating systems receive mixed feedback, ranging from efficient to inadequate depending on the building. Some frustration arises from inconsistent owner responsiveness and management decisions affecting tenant experience. Overall, residents value the building staff's efforts but suggest improvements in noise insulation and heating reliability to enhance livability.

Avoid Jordan Platt

Pros

I have lived in this building my entire life and it is safe, our Super and Porter are excellent, responsive and efficient.

Cons

The following reflects my personal opinions based on my experience. Kaled Management does the absolute bare minimum for their tenants. Jordan Platt, one of their managers, was handed his position by way of nepotism from my understanding and as always with nepo babies you get the worst possible blend of entitlement and ineffectiveness. His laziness, miserliness, callousness, sadism, and duplicitousness are only eclipsed by what I found to be functionally incompetent management. His consistently supercilious bearing underscores this arrogant incompetence. In my experience, he has a habit of implementing arbitrary changes without warning tenants, leaving them to deal with the resulting inconvenience, confusion, and expense. If you're thinking about moving into a building managed by Jordan Platt it is my opinion that you look elsewhere. Save yourself the trouble of having to deal with this nepo nightmare.

Slumlord subleaser in building

Pros

Majority of the time great neighbors and supers are awesome

Cons

Please do NOT let slumlord sub leaders take over building!!! Have multiple tenants now living above me, no rugs, a dog and cat loud get togethers (pounding on the floors NO RUGS from midnight on including mid week) unit it technically rented to a married couple that is 60+…..but I’ve never seen even when I’ve gone upstairs

Advice to the owners

Pay attention to units and units being subleased to MANY people illegally
