Terrible management, leaky building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet building with mostly friendly neighbors
Cons:
Unresponsive management, constant leaks, mold and fungus
Advice to owner:
Fire Brighton Management, they are neglecting repairs and completely unresponsive

Nice place, not great maintenance
Former Tenant
Pros:
We like our space, its well laid out, nice appliances and renovation
Cons:
Not great location
They over heat in winter (our radiators were 148 degrees) and with cats its hard to leave windows open. We had our air conditioning running and were still sweating bullets constantly. They ignored requests to lower the heat.
There has been black mold visible in the entry way for months.
Our deadbolt stopped locking and they said they wouldnt do anything about it
Advice to owner:
Care about your tenants

Poorly managed property
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to subway
Cons:
Horrible, unresponsive management, no super, unreliable heat and hot water, rodent infestation, bad garbage management, dangerous neighborhood, unreasonable rent, down stairs virtual doorman has not worked in months
Advice to owner:
Ignoring your tenant’s issues and concerns only costs you money in the long run, especially with the turnover that you have.

No heat/hot water/management + trash in alley
Former Tenant
Pros:
You can buy weed on the front steps
Cons:
No heat or hot water in winter months. Unresponsive from management.
Neighbor on the 4th floor throws trash out in the alley. Management literally will say they are working on the issues for months, so you’ll be full of heat from your anger. Dana of Brighton management is the worst, and Bohemia did nothing to help residents they put in the building on behalf of tenants or landlords.
Advice to owner:
Sell the building to a landlord who gives a damn.

No heat or hot water
Former Tenant
Pros:
Small inexpensive new appliances
Proximity to local and express subway
Cons:
No heat or hot water during winter and first few months of pandemics
Tiny stairwell
No batteries for Stairwell Fire alarms
Repairs by the super are shoddy
Lease calculations are inaccurate, I read the lease closely before signing and several mistakes were missed by the property manager and broker at Bohemia realty
Advice to owner:
Turn yourselves in to the police.

Living in a nightmare
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was a nice modern layout with new appliances.
Cons:
Situated above a deli, the mouse problem was non-stop. We killed 8 before we moved out and they never stopped coming no matter how many times the super and exterminator plugged up holes. The upstairs neighbors blasted music from midnight until 7am so loud that our whole apartment shook and you could hear every lyric. I will say management did their job to file a lawsuit and stop the noise but it was a really bad migraine inducing situation for quite a few months. Gunshots happened regularly on the block and police kept their lights on all night shining directly into our bedroom. There was also a firehouse on the block so there were frequent sirens day and night. There was also an issue with adequate heating that had to be fixed a few times in the dead of winter as well as drain flies coming from the shower drain. To top it all off water damage left huge holes in our ceiling and needed to be patched up and one night a cop car collided headon into another car right infront of our window. Everything that could go wrong here, did go wrong. We could only hope the next tenant to live there would be a deaf cat owner.
Advice to owner:
Rent to deaf cat owner only
