Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Joel Berkowitz frequently report unclean conditions and poor garbage management. Pest issues, including bedbugs and roaches, are common complaints. Heating systems and water pressure vary in quality, with some tenants noting costly and unreliable utilities. Management responsiveness is generally viewed as slow or unhelpful, leading to frustration over delayed repairs and maintenance. While some buildings have friendly neighbors and convenient locations, several renters experience noise disturbances and poorly maintained common areas. A few positive reviews mention occasional responsiveness and decent amenities, but overall, management struggles with communication and upkeep, impacting tenant satisfaction negatively.

Pros

Super convenient to everything! Myrtle wycoff stop, super market, ridgewood markets and loads of great food trucks!!

Cons

They do not take care of this building at all. The rooftop has been in shambles for the past 2 years and no one is on it. There was a stain in the package room and I personally reported it numerous times. I’ve seen pests in the building but thankfully never my own space. The laundry room and workout room have been neglected. I think I’ve seen someone clean the common spaces maybe 1 time every 2 months and that is being generous. And finally the large con is the management who is sassy and unresponsive and very very unhelpful unless pressers

Advice to the owners

Best management of building and better people doing customer service.
