Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Mayer Schwartz reveal a mixed reputation among tenants. While many appreciate the cleanliness, amenities, and the charm of the buildings, several complaints center around management issues, including slow responsiveness and questionable practices regarding fees and maintenance. Numerous reviews suggest that management often appears more focused on profit than tenant satisfaction, leading to frustrations over unfulfilled maintenance requests and communication gaps. Despite these drawbacks, some buildings are praised for their community feel and well-kept facilities, making them appealing to younger residents seeking affordable living options in the area.

Good Unit. Shady Management

Pros

The unit itself was great. I was very happy with my space and most of the tenants were very friendly.

Cons

The management was less than desirable. They have a shady illegal broker that did a bait and switch with us when originally showing us the unit and tried to charge us illegal fees. The broker, Joey, is friends with the owners of the building, so even though he lost his license he was still showing units. They also said heat was included, but they installed a new heater in our unit that was electric, so heat went on our electric bill.

Pretty great space

Pros

good light in my apartment, I didn't personally have any issues with pests, respectful neighbors, working and cleanly amenities, nice view from roof

Cons

the roof was nice and I wish I could actually sit up there but the "furniture" is basically unusable

Advice to the owners

Put more actual seating and tables on the roof!
