Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for JULIE DIRICO’s buildings highlights a mix of positives and challenges. Residents value the affordable rent, spacious units, and convenient locations, especially in rent-stabilized buildings. Management and maintenance staff are often responsive and kind, with regular cleaning of common areas and timely garbage removal. However, some tenants report pest issues, inconsistent heating, and aging infrastructure needing upgrades. Concerns include occasional unresponsiveness from management, cleanliness lapses in some interiors, and complaints about noise and neighbors. Overall, tenants recommend the buildings for their value and location but suggest improved maintenance responsiveness and pest control for a better living experience.

No major complaints

Pros

I don't have any major complaints and I don't plan to move any time soon. The best things about this apartment are obivously the location, and the space you get for the price. Also it is rent stabilized, which is a huge perk. Additional pros: The building super is usually quick to respond about issues. Foyer area is always tidy, and garbage area is maintained/taken care of regularly. Heat/hot water are included and work well (at least in my unit). I find my unit to be fairly quiet, with minimal sounds heard from neighboring units.

Cons

Roaches sometimes, even though they spray regularly. Though the building super is *quick* to respond about issues, he gives a bit of an attitude and treats you like you're bothering him, which is annoying. Despite it being a non-smoking building, I frequently catch people (including the building super himself!) smoking in the stairwell. Packages are sometimes stolen from lobby, which is frustrating.
