Nightmare building from Hell
Former Tenant
Pros:
Absolutely nothing at all.
Cons:
I hated everything about the building it's never clean there are rats the size of small cats garbage all over the halls and steps. The super Jose Peña has absolutely no people skills is super lazy and disrespectful. Neighbors are loud rude and inconsiderate. Addicts sleep on hallway and stairs drug transactions are made in plain sight in the building.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsible get rid of your no good super and fix this building up.

My mother suffered the winter with lack of heat and hot water
Former Tenant
Pros:
Not much to say
Cons:
The super of the building is lazy, and does not like to repair the problems that the apartments have.
Advice to owner:
My mother who lived in apartment #5A has passed away on March 24th of this year. The apartment looks like crap, but it is not the property owner fault, because he was not aware of all the damage that the apartment has.

Major Health Hazard
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s close to the shopping center
Cons:
There are so many problems in the building and apartments. Management will say they will fix it and never do no matter how many times you call 311. There is a mice infestation and mold. This place is a health hazard.
Advice to owner:
Make repairs

Dont Waste Your Money
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cant think of any

Stay away from this hell hole! This building is very old and very dirty!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Horrible building
Cons:
Building is disgusting just like the people that live in it! The super is lazy and lacks experience.Management is horrible and take years to make basic repairs! They also raise your rent to compensate for needed repairs in the building there is no heat during the winter, water pressure sucks! It’s a miracle this building hasn’t crumbled yet.
Advice to owner:
Sell the property! Demolish it and start all over.

5 year resident
Former Tenant
Pros:
Next to bus stop and close to train
Near stores/supermarkets
Front door remained locked with no issues
Neighbors were friendly but not overly nice or annoying
Cons:
Heat and hot water were inconsistent. Got a space heater which ended up burning the outlet.
Repairs take forever - I was once locked in my apartment when the door jammed and the fire escape could not be let down because someone had tied cords around it. Super removed my toilet and did not replace for 2 days. Had a leak in my bathroom ceiling. Often had mice. Neighbor complained about roaches (I saw maybe 5 or less in my time in the building).
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive and responsible.

Loud and Dirty
Former Tenant
Pros:
Fairly close to the 1 train as well as decent access to the 4 train by way of the BX9 bus.
Cons:
Very loud music gets played constantly, there’s garbage in the hallways, tenants frequently smoke in the hallways, and pest control needs to get stepped up promptly.
Advice to owner:
Clean up this building immediately! It’s filthy, poorly maintained, nearly impossible to reach someone in the management office, and far too many tenants feel free to play their music loudly at all hours of the day, plus tenants constantly leave garbage in the stairwells. So disgusting!
