Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Corien John reveals severe management shortcomings. Renters report extremely poor cleanliness, garbage handling, and pest control, alongside persistent heating failures and noise disturbances. Owner responsiveness is consistently described as unacceptably slow or nonexistent, contributing to unresolved safety and repair issues. Several reviews warn of hazardous living conditions, including fire risks and unsafe environments. While some units are rent stabilized and offer low rent, the overall tenant experience is marked by neglect and dissatisfaction. Prospective renters should expect minimal management support and consider alternative options for safer, better-maintained housing.

Reviews

It's four walls

Pros

Trains and buses are close by

Cons

This building is a death trap and it needs to be demolished before people lose their lives like the two dogs and cat that died in that building due to an electrical fire , whats worse is the fact that there was a second fire on the roof of the building less than 24 hours after the first fire that blew out the roof of the building, the ceiling of a tenant on the top floor (concerns of landlord burning tenants out) still under investigation

Advice to the owners

Slumlords live in the building

Pros

Cheap rent and rent stabilized.

Cons

Bad garbage management. Owners live in building but insist on having rent checks mailed. They’re not responsive to heat or repair issues.
