Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent renter feedback for buildings managed by Mark Massey reveals a troubling pattern of poor management and maintenance. Tenants consistently report unresponsiveness to repair requests, especially regarding heating, pest control, and garbage management. Safety concerns such as gas leaks, fire hazards, and mold issues have been raised without adequate action. Communication is often absent, with delayed or no return of security deposits and neglected common area upkeep. Despite a prime location and low rent, dissatisfaction stems from superficial repairs, malfunctioning intercoms, and rodent problems. Overall, management under Mark Massey appears neglectful, creating a stressful living environment that many tenants discourage others from entering.

Stay Away - it is a nightmare living here

Pros

Location is ideal. Very convenient and close to Museum Mile. Easy access to Central Park and subways.

Cons

The building is horrible. Not properly maintained, lack of sunlight, dirty and management very unresponsive. Building manager, Mark Massey is very uncouth and uncivilized.

Advice to the owners

Keep the building clean. Mark, Instead of trying to do everything yourself, hire people with the proper expertise to get things done. Fix the intercom system so that tenants do not have to come down how many flights of stairs to let a visitor in. Be responsive to tenants when they reach out to you. And do not sit on tenants security deposit for 6 months before you return it
