Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews from tenants of buildings managed by Alexander Horn reveal significant management issues. Many renters report problems with cleanliness, pest control, and responsiveness from the landlord, noting frequent pest infestations and poor garbage management. Noise levels and disruptive neighbors are common complaints, alongside a worrying lack of heat during winter months. Although some residents appreciate the spaciousness and amenities in certain units, the general sentiment underscores a lack of concern from the management towards tenant satisfaction. Prospective renters should be cautious and may benefit from thorough research before considering a lease.

Not Worth the Stress

Pros

Prime location in Bed-Stuy with plenty of nearby cafes, restaurants and parks. Spacious apartment. In-unit washer and dryer.

Cons

Some of the tenants are disgusting and leave trash in the building, causing a major pest problem. You can’t get packages sent there because a tenant watches the delivery trucks all day and steals the packages upon delivery. There are very loud tenants who go through the hallways yelling and stomping up the steps. A few neighbors had to get ring cams because it’s so bad. You can tell the landlords don’t really care either. They’ll send a mass email to the building with warnings, but no significant action to rectify poor tenant behavior. The people coming to clean the building so the bare minimum. Besides the location and size the apartment, you’re pretty much living in hell.

Horrible management and building conditions

Pros

Somewhat reasonable rent. Not worth the price but compared to NYC this is the most feasible.

Cons

Pest control is insane, the management most likely will not answer you. There’s no heat during winter and no ac during the summer.

Advice to the owners

Do better.
