Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Buildings managed by Edward Tempesta show a mixed tenant experience. While some appreciate the prime locations, spacious apartments, and friendly neighbors, many highlight poor management responsiveness and maintenance delays, especially regarding heat and garbage management issues. Several renters report pest problems, occasional security concerns, and inconsistent building upkeep. Tenants caution about potential rent hikes and problematic interactions, advising the management to improve communication and professionalism. Although some residents recommend staying due to good neighborhood vibes, others strongly advise against renting, describing the management as unprofessional and unresponsive. Prospective renters should be aware of these management concerns before committing.

Check violations with the city before you rent this place.

Pros

Location is great as the train C and E is across from this building and Tradar Joes and CVS in the next block.

Cons

The landlord is terrible people. They have tones and are rude. There are times that they sound nice but usually don’t respect you. If you are new to New York City and don’t know much about New York housing law or the cultures here, they will take advantage of you and charge you more rent. And they don’t follow the law. If they decides to kick you out, they would use any lie to file a lawsuits against you. Also they don't respect women. They will talk over you and chunk you off with very unprofessional manners until you bring another male to talk to them. Heat often did not work the winter of 2022 but the landlord told each tenant you are only one who's complaining. We had a very cold November 2022 winter and 2023 winter in our apartments. So many rats around the garbage areas. They mean to violate laws. They charge high rent for its condition and target tenants to live just a year or two.

Advice to the owners

Follow the law and while I understand your business point of view, greed does not get you anywhere but go south.

Solid NYC Apartment

Pros

Never had any problems with pests, good size rooms, and amazing location.

Cons

Management is very slow to respond, but I didn’t have too many issues while living there.
