Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Anthony Zacharias reveals a mixed management experience. While some appreciate the responsive staff and clean environments in parts, there are recurring issues with pest infestations, inconsistent cleaning schedules, and maintenance delays, particularly with heating and water pressure systems. Residents report noise challenges due to location, and some express dissatisfaction with rent increases absent of noticeable renovations. Garbage management receives generally favorable remarks, but the overall upkeep and proactive pest control are areas needing improvement. Prospective renters should anticipate both attentive management moments and ongoing maintenance and cleanliness challenges.

Worst building I’ve lived in 16 years

Pros

The only thing good about this place is the water pressure and the water is always scolding hot.

Cons

This is the only building I’ve lived at in 16 years in New York that doesn’t have a monthly exterminator, nobody comes to clean the hallways and stairwells on a weekly basis. In fact, I don’t think they clean them at all. In the winter, the building is infested with mice, and even the ginormous cockroaches get in. Not to mention that they raise the rent every year however much they feel like it, even when there have been no renovations or yearly painting done, the heating pipes make a very loud clank clanking sound that in the winter I have to sleep at my boyfriend’s house mostly. When I apply for this apartment, I was told there were no pets allowed, but I somehow always hear a dog barking in the building and see people getting cat food deliveries. And you’re probably wondering, why don’t I move out? Because costs of living keep going up and my salary keeps staying the same. Landlords like this are part of the problem.

Advice to the owners

Get a monthly exterminator and regular weekly cleaning of the stairwell and halls
