Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Anshel Fridman reveal a mixed management experience. Positives include responsive, friendly supers who maintain a welcoming atmosphere and address maintenance issues quickly. The buildings often feature good amenities, functional appliances, and convenient locations near transit. However, common criticisms highlight persistent infrastructure issues such as unreliable heating, occasional flooding, noise disturbances from commercial spaces, and lapses in cleanliness and pest control. Communication from ownership can sometimes be inadequate, especially concerning safety updates. Overall, while supers may excel in tenant relations, management should improve building upkeep, noise enforcement, and proactive communication to enhance tenant satisfaction.

Looks nice, crumbling infrastructure

Pros

The apartment is in a great location and has nice tenant

Cons

The management company is the typical greedy landlords. They will make any shortcuts if it means they don't need to spend any money. There have been multiple incidents over the years with floods, ceilings falling in, mold, and used mattresses laying around in the building.

Great location, great super, decent building

Pros

Nelson, the super, is incredibly responsive and nice. The location just off of an A stop and close to the G is great. Generally great amenities (reasonably priced laundry machines, usually more than enough for the entire building, perfectly well-stocked workout room). My apartment had a good amount of space, and a great kitchen as far as NYC apartments go.

Cons

Some issues with the basement level of my duplex apartment. Had a minor flooding issue once, but that was during historically bad flooding across the city in a major storm. Some issues with the heat in the basement level as well.
