Great Apartment and Building
Pros
Lots of sunlight. Quiet neighbors. Located close to Central, Riverside, and Morningside Parks. Close to the B,C,1 train lines. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Several grocery options. Easy, walkable neighborhood.
Cons
No elevator, full walk up. Being so close to Columbia is blessing/curse
Advice to the owners
Probably time to upgrade the carpeting/paint/lighting in the common halls
It's a good building with a decent landlord, but rent increases every year

Great location, and the building, although old, is well-managed.
Cons
The top floor tenants of this building are good friends with the landlord, and they are some of the rudest neighbors I have ever encountered in the city. They're a young family with kids, and the kids are incessantly loud — they are literally stomping on the floors and throwing balls at the ground on purpose, often until late into the night. The parents are completely unresponsive to any pleas to the contrary. Landlord is good, but interested in increasing rent every year as opposed to holding onto reliable and stable tenants.
