Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews indicate that the buildings managed by Kazuhiko Kyogoku are grappling with significant maintenance and management issues. While the locations are praised for their convenience and friendly neighbors, tenants frequently report inadequate cleanliness, poor garbage management, and persistent pest problems. Concerns about heating and timely responses from the management are prevalent, with many renters feeling neglected. Although some buildings exhibit good amenities and a welcoming community, the overall consensus points to a lack of proactive management that could greatly enhance residents' quality of life. Prospective tenants should weigh these factors carefully when considering these properties.

Landlord doesn’t look out for tenants at all

Pros

Location; nice people in building

Cons

Roaches Hole in the first floor common area (landlord won’t fix) Issues with heat and water many times throughout the year Mold Poor maintenance of building and apartments

Advice to the owners

Actually try a little bit.

Former tenant·Over 1 year ago

Old building with lots of issues

Pros

Location is great with proximity to good dining, bars, Trader Joes, and Central Park.

Cons

My unit is very dark which is hard during the winter. Building has had pest issues since day 1 of my move in. I've never had any issues with pests in the past. There has been a rat that lives in the trash room for months. Also, if there's ever a spill in the hall, it takes weeks to be cleaned. Once there was cat litter spilled in the hall and it just stayed there for awhile. Other tenants seem to not mind the mess, but it's been very difficult for me to deal with. Additionally, things need to be updated, management could be better with repairing things in a timely manner.
