Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings under Robert Slinin's management reveals a mixed experience. Positive aspects include responsive maintenance staff, relatively quiet neighbors, and in some buildings, good water pressure and heating. However, several reviews highlight significant concerns such as rude and unhelpful management personnel, particularly with communication issues and slow or unfulfilled repair requests. Tenants report cleanliness problems, pest infestations, inadequate heating systems, and security vulnerabilities like package theft. Rent increases and unclear stabilization status also cause dissatisfaction. Overall, while some appreciate the location and certain amenities, management responsiveness and building upkeep appear inconsistent, warranting attention to residents' maintenance and customer service concerns.

21 W. 106th Street Review

Pros

Quiet neighborhood, the Super, Malcom is very sweet, garbage is picked up quickly, quiet neighbors

Cons

Merina from management is extremely rude to any question you may have I have never dealt with someone who gaslights harder or makes you feel worse about anything than she does. She makes living here miseerable. hot water does not last longer than 3 minutes, very high rent for apartments in the same buildings being rent stabilized.

Advice to the owners

Mixed bag, greedy rude management company

Pros

Great location. Great water pressure. Good service on appliances.

Cons

Horrible issues with leaks. Grossly insufficient heat - they are baseboards. Extremely expensive to run and does not keep the apartment warm. The management company is rude and condescending whenever you need to speak with them. They will jack up your rent significantly when renewal comes. Some neighbors are rent-controlled and suspect that many 'market rate' units in the building are in fact rent-stabilized. The trash area is disgusting.
