Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by Joel Lefkowitz points to consistent issues with management responsiveness and building upkeep. Residents report slow or inadequate responses to maintenance requests and management's failure to address serious infrastructure problems such as frequent power outages and pest infestations. Cleanliness and garbage management are often cited as major concerns, with some areas described as filthy and poorly maintained. Despite some positive remarks about apartment sizes and neighborhood location, renters frequently face noise disturbances and building design flaws like thin walls and lack of ventilation. Overall, management is perceived as unhelpful and unprofessional, leading to renter dissatisfaction and a general reluctance to recommend these buildings.

Reviews

Former tenant·7 minutes ago

Don’t live here

Pros

Nice appliances, no bugs

Cons

Slow response time, no electricity for months, horrible vibes

Former tenant·3 months ago

Could be good but major power issues

Pros

Location, roof, room size

Cons

The acceptable: no windows in living room, no closets anywhere but bedrooms The unacceptable: terrible electricity problems throughout entire building that effect everyone. Building management is incredibly incompetent for god knows what reasons. Power goes out often and is generally unstable, causing stress in living there. This issue alone makes it not worth living here if you can help it. If this wasn't an issue it would be a decent place to live but this makes it feel like a total scam.

Advice to the owners

Hire an actual licensed electrician to fix the power issues or sell the building to someone who will follow the law.
