Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting buildings managed by Boysie Siew encounter a mixed management experience. Positive remarks often note clean, well-maintained premises and quiet neighborhoods, with some sites featuring spacious apartments and attentive supers. However, several reviews highlight issues with unresponsiveness from management, delayed or insufficient repairs, pest infestations, and outdated infrastructure needing renovation. Heating can be inconsistent, especially on upper floors, and concerns persist about security measures such as package theft. While some tenants appreciate the landlord's efforts, many call for improved communication, timely maintenance, and modernization to enhance living conditions and resident satisfaction across these properties.

GET ME OUT OF HERE.

Pros

Great location to subways. Decent food nearby, and good distance to supermarkets.

Cons

Landlord that doesn't want to spend a dime to fix ANYTHING, and a super that thinks he can fix it all but he can't fix anything. History of bed bugs, current issues with mice, rats, cockroaches, leaks during rainstorms. And further than that, whenever a violation is issued that requires a resolution, they will spend as little as possible to fix the issue. The result is, a roof that still leaks, windows that are constantly breaking, pest issues that are never taken care of, etc. It's just the worst place to be, run by a slumlord. And those are only the internal issues! Outside the apartment, we have roving groups of ATVs and dirt bikes annoyingly speeding up and down Grand Concourse. We have a building across the street that we refer to as "the crackhead building"; guess why. We hear gunshots every night. It's just a bad place to be. Thinking about moving here? Don't.

Advice to the owners

Stop sucking, because you suck. People pay you good money to live here and you give nothing in return but a leaky roof over our heads.
