Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Ramin Shalom report a mix of positive and negative experiences centered on management responsiveness and building upkeep. Residents praise some supers for maintaining cleanliness and prompt repairs, along with generally quiet and safe neighborhoods. However, persistent issues with pest infestations, elevator maintenance, and misleading amenities like advertised doormen have caused dissatisfaction. Garbage management and building cleanliness vary greatly, especially at 210 East 38th Street, which faces chronic pest problems and slow owner responsiveness. Calls for improved communication, timely maintenance, and better facility upkeep frequently emerge. Overall, tenants find some locations livable but recommend management address ongoing service and facilities shortcomings to enhance resident satisfaction.

Average building but great super

Pros

Super maintains cleanliness and building is on a quiet block

Cons

Elevator frequently goes out - is also advertised with a doorman but there isn't one

Advice to the owners

Stop advertising a non-existent doorman!

Jus an OK Apartment

Pros

This building has been good, nothing great. No bugs in our unit (thank god), though I know that other units may be not be as lucky. The price is OK with it being sort of spacious, good kitchen, the location being 8ish min to a Trader Joe’s, 5 min to Grand Central, and super easy access to the east river for runs.

Cons

No window in the living room, noisy outside (traffic, sirens, construction), bathroom and bedroom doors aren’t completely sealed at the bottom, door knobs fall out easily, no closet in one of the rooms, had air circulation throughout the unit.

Advice to the owners

Fix the doors, don’t just paint over everything
