Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants in buildings managed by Edward Vays appreciate spacious units, good neighbors, and amenities like elevators, back porches, and rooftops. Garbage management is generally adequate, and pest control and water pressure are mostly rated positively. However, renters frequently mention issues with maintenance responsiveness, citing inconsistent or slow repairs, especially for non-critical concerns. Rent prices are considered high with minimal amenities, and some feel management prioritizes increasing rent over tenant satisfaction. Communication could be more direct, and there’s a need for updated building maintenance and a dedicated superintendent to better oversee the properties.

Pros and cons

Pros

Spacious units, elevator into units, friendly building.

Cons

Frequent issues with things breaking in the units, leaks, etc. Landlords are responsive when it’s a critical issue but not consistently. Very expensive rent for minimal amenities.

Former tenant·Over 1 year ago

Ridiculous rent for terrible landlord

Pros

Neighbors are great. But that’s pretty much the only thing that my money isn’t going towards. And management doesn’t care, they keep pushing out good renters

Cons

Landlord never responds to service requests and when they do receive a response they are fixed with a bandaid that often breaks days later and is never fixed. They seem to only care about making meaningful changes on units they’ve pushed renters out of so they can charge new renters a ridiculous amount. They will raise your rent by 20% and would by 100% if someone would pay it.

Advice to the owners

I don’t know. Be a person who cares about your renters livelihood and values having consistent renters instead of just looking for the highest bidder.
